FALASSARNA BEACH IN CRETE
Click on the title for the Greek tourism link to Chania.
Now that the weather sucks, I show you some pix from one of the huge highlights of September´s trip to Crete and Santorini. The beach of Falassarna, near Hania (Chania for English speakers)
We were trying to go and see Balos beach, but the girl at the hotel told us it was too far, and the reantal car a crappy one. She said: Try Falasarna, it´s ok (With a look in her eyes like saying...it´s not that bad). And this is what we found. THE MOST AMAZING CRYSTAL WATERS WE COULD COME ACROSS IN THE MEDITERRANEAN, and not many more places around the world can be proud of these beaches.
It is far from everywhere, no hotels, just 2 or 3 small pensions, and some houses, but a sense of being isolated in paradise. Needless to say, many people choose naked here.
We had a fantastic day. Besides some beaches in Majorca and Menorca, and obviously Playa de los Muertos, in Almeria, this place was the best beach I´ve seen (Not counting Caribbean or Thai ones)
And the best was to come when we went to a tavern by the sea, ate amazing tasting seafood, beer, etc...got plenty of olives, honey pies, etc...and the 3 of us paid just under 20 Eur.
Just had to show this one, Jade taking care of mama´s hair, je,je,je...
Later on I will upload some pix from Chania, the capital of this region in Crete, another paradise. This island is a perfect place to retire...at any age.
